Dr. David Hartman is certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and his other professional memberships include the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the American Medical Association.
When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Hartman enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, and two children, Lucy, and Jonas. David’s hobbies include working on their small farm of orchard trees, fishpond, and hiking trails. Four dogs, a cat, “Gus,” the goat, and a miniature horse named “Farmer” keep things lively. He also enjoys performing in comedy skits at his church, furniture making, and restoring old oil paintings. His office is a gallery of his painting restorations.
Fine Arts Skin & Laser Facial Plastic Surgery exists today because of a unique blend of experiences and events in the life of Dr. David Hartman. He received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University, graduating with high honors. He was one of two college students in the state that year to receive the Governor’s Award for Exceptional Volunteer Service.
David acted in commercials film, and daytime television for ten years, and earned his membership in the Screen Actors Guild. He also designed and built exquisite furniture collections for top producers, directors, and actors in Hollywood. These artistic experiences honed David’s ability to work with his hands and developed his eye for beauty, proportion, and detail.
After David’s father’s terminal battle with cancer, and watching the empathy exhibited by his father’s medical team, David turned to the medical field. David earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, graduating in the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha and magna cum laude. David completed his residency training in Manhattan at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, one of the premier facial plastic training programs in America.
